A rejuvenating yoga retreat with Jessie Chapman in beautiful Byron Bay. Enjoy lovely beach walks & ocean swims, twice daily yoga, meditation & chanting, healthy meals & fresh juices, evening yoga nidra and other healing art classes. There’s plenty of time to relax around the freshwater pool, bathe in the ocean, receive in-house holistic spa treatments, catch up on some reading and completely relax.
The location is Sangsurya Retreat, a beautiful 10 acre property just minutes drive from Byron Bay and the beaches. It features a large wooden floor yoga space, a freshwater swimming pool with coastal views and a relaxing restaurant and lounge area. Accommodation is in lovely hand built houses and cabins, each with their own unique flavour, that surround the yoga hall and pool.
Morning yoga is taught in the fluid Vinyasa style moving from posture to posture with the deep full breathing. Afternoon yoga classes are relaxation and restoration. Other classes include meditation, core strength, inversion practice as well as nutrition and healthy lifestyle talks, yogadance and guided chakra meditation. Massages, Reiki & Beauty treatments are available in-house. I hour massages and Reiki healings are $85 per hour, all beauty treatments (facials, body scrubs, etc) are $95 per hour. We will send out the complete menu closer to the date so you can make bookings before the retreat starts.
a rough guide to the daily schedule:
6.30 am – morning vinyasa yoga
9.00 am - cleansing juice followed by healthy buffet breakfast
free time / massage / pool / walk / relax
1 pm – core strength class / meditation / other workshop
1.30 pm - gourmet vegetarian lunch
free time / guided walk / massage / pool / relax
4.30 pm- afternoon relaxation yoga
7 pm - gourmet vegetarian dinner
8.30 pm - yoga nidra / meditation
check-in and check-out: arrival time on the first day is from 10 am onwards with a healthy buffet lunch available between 12 pm and 3 pm. The first yoga class and formal group welcome is at 4 pm - allowing you time to arrive, get settled into your room, eat well and perhaps have a massage or a swim before yoga. Due to flights people arrive at all different times in the day but aim to be there as early as possible so you have time to relax before yoga. Check-out of the resort and retreat end is 12 midday on the last day.

For those travelling by plane details are given re easy bus transfers direct to the retreat centre from either Coolangatta International Airport, Ballina Domestic Airport or Brisbane International Airport.
